600cc Micro Sprints racing as TQ midgets: test

New for 2009 the ATQMRA will have the 600 Micro sprints racing with the TQ midgets. 600 Micro sprints will be permitted to run with the ATQMRA for the 2009 season on a trial basis.   The cars will be racing within the ranks of the ATQMRA as a separate division but will be racing on the track with the TQ midgets at scheduled races.  The 600 cars will have their own handicapping, scoring, and points separate from the TQ midgets.  We will have an overall winner, a TQ midget race winner as well as a 600 winner. Each racer will be paid for the position where they finish.  It will be like running the big blocks with the small blocks so to speak. 

In an effort to balance the cars we have adopted the following specifications for the 600cc micro sprints.

• All cars and drivers must register with the ATQMRA to be eligible to compete
• Any dirt 600cc Micro sprint must make an attempt to convert to a pavement car. 
• Any car wishing to compete must pass pre race tech inspection
• Any car creating a hazard on the track due to erratic handling or driving will not be allowed to compete
• Maximum ride height of 3”
• Standard Micro Sprint rules will apply except where specified.

   

• A maximum of a 10 square foot single stage wing will be permitted.  All wings are to be fixed, non-cockpit adjustable, with no pneumatics, hydraulics, sprints or levers as to allow adjustment by the driver.  All wings must have a quick release device to permit quick exit by the driver.  All wings, wings mounts, and releases must be approved in inspection. 
• No nose wings are permitted.

   

• The measurement from the outside of the right tire to the outside of the left tire must not exceed 59 inches measured above the bulge of the tire at the bottom and move freely into the official gauge.
• Alcohol is permitted in 600cc Micro Sprints
• Four wheel hydraulic brakes are required
• Car and driver must weigh a minimum of 810 lbs
• LC5 or MG5 right rear tire
• Pavement tires must be run on all four corners
